John David Schneider

John David Schneider, 92, of Logansport, passed away peacefully at home Monday, March 28, 2022, surrounded by his family.

Born February 10, 1930, he was the son of the late Raymond and Florence (Mehaffie) Schneider.

On October 9, 1953, he was married to Dorothy (Bruner) Schneider who survives.

Following graduation from Washington Township High School, Dave served in the United States Army, being stationed in Panama during the Korean War. He retired from the United States Post Office after 36 years and then worked as a school bus driver.

Dave was a kind, gentle, and unpretentious man who was loved dearly by his wife, daughters, and grandchildren. He was a true peacemaker. Dave was an avid sports fan who excelled in basketball, baseball, and bowling.

Surviving with his wife are five daughters, Linda (Barney) Woosley, Greenfield, IN, Denise Hyman, Hillsboro, NC, Janet (Tim) Sholty, Franklin, IN, Anita (Robert) Ellison, Cox’s Creek, KY, and Becky (Richard) Treitz, Greensburg, KY; one sister, Judy (Dick) Tomlinson, Michigan; nine grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Howard Schneider.

A private service for the family will be held at Fisher Funeral Chapel, followed by burial with military honors in Mount Hope Cemetery.
