Phyllis Joan (Townsley) Key

Phyllis Joan Key, age 89, of Logansport, passed away Wednesday April 27, 2022, in Millers Merry Manor.

Born August 7, 1932, in Logansport to the late Owen Everett and Nellie Bly (Jones) Townsley. On September 8, 1950, in Logansport she married Richard L. Key who preceded in death December 19, 1998.

Phyllis was the former EEL Township Trustee from 1982 until 1994. She was a member of Cross-Wind United Methodist Church, Royal Center Order of Eastern Star #375 and former Past Worthy Matron of Fidelity Chapter #58 of Eastern Star and Past Maharanee of the Logansport Niddee Shrine Guild.

Survivors include two sons, Jeff (Helen) Key, Logansport; Mike (Vicky) Key, Galveston; daughter-in-law, Eleanor Key, New Mexico; ten grandchildren, Jason Key, Jamie Key, Jessica (Matt) Good, Ryan (Kirsten) Key, Stephanie (Jason) Hansell, Eric Key, Jennie Key, Jonathan Key, D.J. Key, and Richard Key; thirteen great grandchildren, Taylor (Andrew) Daggett, Makenna ( Kyle Ennis) Good, Maci (Malin Vazquez) Good, Easton Good, Tyson Good, Dalton (Grace Wright) Key, Ashli Key, Kaiden Key, Keagon Hansell, Penelope Hansell, Odin Hansell, Hendrix Key and Otto Key; two great-great grandchildren, Brooks Daggett and Navy Good-Vazquez; several nieces and nephews.

Phyllis was preceded in death by two brothers, Bob and Kenny Townsley; one sister, Norma Etcheson and one son, Dennis Key.

A celebration of life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on April 30, 2022, at the Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Powers officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery of Logansport.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Friday April 29, 2022, in the Gundrum Funeral Home

Memorial may be made to the Shrine Hospitals for Children.
