Rosemary (Kile) Lynas

Rosemary Lynas, 91, of Walton, passed away at 8:52 a.m. Sunday, March 27, 2022, at Bloom of Kokomo.  She was born March 12, 1931, in Howard County to Leonard and Florence (Moss) Kile.   She married James D. Lynas June 2, 1950, in South Bend, Indiana.  

Rose was a graduate of Galveston High School.  She became a homemaker and farm wife with her husband Jim.   She started working as a young girl at the local grocery in Lincoln, Indiana.  In later years, she worked for Southeastern School Corp in Galveston.  She enjoyed gardening and cooking and spending time with her family.  She also enjoyed her cats very much.

Surviving family include her sons, Stephen  Lynas and wife Teresa of Kokomo; and Stanley Lynas and wife Cheryl of Walton.  Grandchildren include, Kelli Hinkle Goodnight and husband Greg, Derek Lynas and wife Janna; Heather Shafer and husband Jesse; Melissa Schmadeke and husband Bill; Kyle Lynas and wife Steph; Kendra Lynas Sommers and Todd See; Kane Lynas and wife Rachel; two step grandchildren, Blake Horner and wife Stephanie; Trent Horner and wife Alyssa.  She is also survived by 23 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild and special friends Pam Roller, Bev Cunningham and Rick Foust.  She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Jim, sisters, Dorothy “Dot” Bullick and Francis Ellen Kile and brother, Richard “Dick” Kile and daughter Janis Elaine Lynas Hinkle.

The family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to all the caregivers at Bloom in Kokomo for their care of Rose during her time there.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 2, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. at Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston.  Visitation will take place prior to services Saturday from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. also at the funeral home.  Burial will follow in the Galveston Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be given to Huntington’s Disease Research in Care of: Huntington’s Disease Society of America, 505 Eighth Ave. Suite 902, New York, NY 10018.  Murray Weaver Funeral home has been entrusted with arrangements. www.murrayweaverfuneralhome.com
