Albert W. Lugenbeal

Albert W. Lugenbeal, 96, of Kokomo, passed away at 5:13 p.m. Sunday, May 8, 2022, at Golden Living Sycamore Village in Kokomo.  He was born March 25, 1926, in Winamac.   He married Helen Skallae in June of 1946 in LaPorte, Indiana.  She later preceded him in death.

Albert retired as a millwright from Chrysler in Kokomo with over 30 years’ service.  He was known as one of America’s greatest generation, he served his country proudly in the United States Navy during World War 2.   

He was a member of UAW Local #685 in Kokomo; a life member of the VFW, Veterans of Foreign Wars and a 36-year member of the American Legion in Galveston.  He enjoyed bowling and gardening.

Surviving family include his children, Peggy Riley and Ralph Lugenbeal; his grandchildren, Charles “Tony” (Linda) Cooke; Angela (Larry) Woods and Hal (Kim) Baker.  Surviving great grandchildren are Shannon Smith, Matt Baker, Kathleen Baker, Amanda Melton and Charles Melton.  He is also survived by three great great grandchildren, Ethan Lott, Tecumseh Newberry and Jacoby Newberry.
