Anita (Austin) Schmidt

Anita Schmidt, 91, of Kokomo passed away peacefully at 8:45 a.m., Sunday, May 15, 2022 at Bloom of Kokomo.

Born on August 28, 1930 in Logansport, she was the daughter of the late Emmett and Minnie (Frank) Austin.

She was a Logansport High School graduate.

On August 14, 1949 she married Louie P. Schmidt. He preceded her in death on February 28, 2013.

Anita was a lifelong homemaker. She was a member of the Elkette’s in Kokomo and she enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include her son, Michael Schmidt (Carolyn) of Kokomo and their family, Scott Schmidt (Robyn) and their family, Gavin and Chloe of Kokomo and Sean Schmidt (Renee) and their family, Cody and Tanner of Walton, Susan Cunningham (Chad) and their daughter, Cassidy of Birmingham, Michigan, and Tim Fenimore (Jennifer) and their family, Hannah and Zach of Bradenton, Florida. Daughter, Deborah Patchett and her son, Scott Patchett of Kokomo and his son, Christopher Patchett of California and her son, Blair Patchett of California. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by granddaughter, Kimberlee Patchett and sister, Duanna Patty and her husband, Burdette.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
