Marsha Kay Iles

Marsha Kay Iles, 72, of Logansport, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, May 5, 2022.

Born July 27, 1949, in Logansport, she was the daughter of the late Nelson C. and Betty Jane (Cox) Johnson.

As a young girl, Marsha was a member of 4-H and the Cass County Junior Leaders and later as a young adult, she enjoyed Rural Youth. Marsha was a 1967 graduate of Logansport High School.

On April 2, 1977, Marsha was married to David J. Iles. Dave was a much-loved math teacher at LHS who passed away on Aug. 9, 2001.

Marsha loved working with children and enjoyed her career as an instructional assistant at Franklin, Columbia, Fairview and Landis Elementary schools.

She was a member of the River of Life Christian Church. She enjoyed gardening and landscaping her home with beautiful flowering trees and plants. Marsha was an excellent baker with cookies being her specialty. She was also a talented seamstress. She loved her family beyond measure and enjoyed the title of “Grandma” more than anything.

Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Alicia Iles, West Lafayette, and Brian and Ann Iles, Logansport; and five grandchildren, Isabelle, Chloe, Nathan, Adam and Colin.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Steven C. Johnson, who had battled muscular dystrophy.

Visitation hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, in Fisher Funeral Chapel.

A funeral service celebrating Marsha’s life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 11, in Fisher Funeral Chapel with Pastor Betsy Arnold officiating.

Interment will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.
