Catherine “Cathy” (Klise) Maggart

Catherine “Cathy” Maggart, 78, of Galveston, died at 6:40 p.m. Sunday, June 5, 2022, surrounded by her family at her home.  She was born November 15, 1943, in Logansport to Roscoe and Marie (Farmer) Klise.   Cathy married Jimmy Maggart on October 8, 1960, in Logansport.   Jim preceded her in death on December 7, 2012.

Cathy was a school bus driver for Southeastern School Corporation for 35 years.  She enjoyed crochet, bowling, puzzles, games, traveling and watching birds in her backyard.  She loved the outdoors and working outside.  She and her husband were huge supporters of the Indiana Sherriff’s Association (ISA).

Surviving family include her children, Joe (Dottie) Maggart of Twelve Mile and Chris (Jeff) Slater of Galveston.  She is also survived by four grandchildren, J.D. and Danny Maggart, Claire (Dalton) Frame, and Hollie Slater and four great grandchildren, Kenley, Mason, Lainie and Harper.  One sister also survives, Linda Hambrick of Ossian, IN.  Cathy is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Jim, and sister, Mary Klise.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 8 from 4 – 8 p.m. at Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston.  Funeral services will take place at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 9th also at the funeral home.  Rev. Bill Collins will officiate with burial to follow in Onward’s Deer Creek Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Indiana Sheriff’s Association, 7124 East County Road 150 South, Suite B, Avon, IN. 46123-2001 or online at indianasheriffs.org.  Murray Weaver Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements. www.murrayweaverfuneralhome.com
