Everett “Sam” Sutton

Everett Samuel “Sam” or affectionally known as “Bill” Sutton, 89, of Walton, passed away at 8:59 a.m. Wednesday, June 15th, 2022, at Parkview Hospital in Wabash.  He was born October 23, 1932, in Leona Mines, VA to Charles W. and Lorena (Farley) Sutton.  He married Carolyn “Betty” Sutton on September 21, 1957, in New York and she survives.

Sam served his country in the United States Army Air Corp.  He became a Chef for the Air Force serving many dignitaries during his career.   He was an avid pool player and a gifted guitar player.  He was a member of the American Legion Post #418 in Walton for many years.

Surviving family include his wife Carolyn “Betty” Sutton of Walton; his children, Lillian (Leon) Sutton Lanning, Galveston; Robin (David) Sutton Soupley, Galveston; Wesley (Terri) N. Sutton, Walton; Tammy (Michael) Glassburn, Galveston; and Tobi (Curtis) Sutton Kesling, Logansport.  Surviving grandchildren include, Candice, Cassandra, Chad, Belinda, Gary, Tabitha, Miricle, Savannah, Whitney, Bobbi, Erica, Ethan and several step grandchildren.  His great grandchildren are, Robert, Tifany, Kati, Nathan, Itale, Jaylan, Ethan, Leah, Noah, Ty,William, Seph, Mason, Myles, Cylas, Willow, Abigail, Gracie, Pasley, and Kip McCoy, and step great grandchildren. 

One brother, Jerry (Jane) Sutton and one sister Lois Sutton also survive him.  He is preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Robert, Mary, Alfred, Richard, James, Elijah, Alice and a baby sister.

Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston with Pastor Brent Cripe officiating.  Visitation will take place from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. prior to services at the funeral home on Wednesday.  Memorial contributions may be given to the family to help with funeral expenses.  Murray Weaver Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements. www.murrayweaverfuneralhome.com
