Anna Marie Wetzel

Anna Marie Wetzel, 71, of Young America, went to Heaven, Sunday, July 24, 2022.   She was born November 6, 1950, to Virgil and Catherine (Bradley) Humphry.   She married Robert Wetzel Sr. on February 6, 1969, in Galveston and he survives.

Anna worked with her sister Faye at Rozzi’s Greenhouse in Logansport for several years. She then, worked at Olympic Foods for 9 years and later retired from Park 100 in 2012.   She had a very special relationship with her sister Faye Lee and was very proud of her little brother, William as well as her entire family.  They were all very close.   She was a very giving person, and she adored her grandchildren.   She enjoyed flowers, baking, and shopping with her sister. She used to go fishing with her husband Bob and especially enjoyed taking rides in the country in the evening to watch the deer and wildlife with her husband.

Surviving family include her husband, Robert Wetzel Sr. of Young America, her sons, Robert (Joni) Wetzel Jr. of Galveston and Dwayne (Kelly) Wetzel of Peru.  She is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren and siblings, Faye, Tommy, Mary Louise, William and foster siblings, Mary Ann and David Bradley.

Visitation will be held Friday, July 29, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston.  Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Ken Spangler officiating.  Burial will take place in the Center U.B. Cemetery near Young America.  Memorial contributions may be given to the First Baptist Church of Young America in Anna’s memory.  Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston has been entrusted with arrangements. www.murrayweaverfuneralhome.com
