Lahoma “Kay” Salmons

Lahoma “Kay” Salmons, 81, of Logansport passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at 7:39 a.m., Wednesday, July 13, 2022.

Born on June 18, 1941 in Kirk, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Chester and Edna (Rutherford) Clay. 

On December 9, 1961, she married Calvin Salmons.  He preceded her in death in 1974

She retired from being a kitchen manager from Russow’s Restaurant as cooking was her passion.  Kay loved to bake and cook for anyone who crossed her path. 

Kay was a beloved mother and grandmother and the heart and soul of her children and grandchildren. Her passion every fall was college football and the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Chicago Bears.

Survivors include her children, Shannon Salmons, Stephen (Lori) Salmons and Scott Salmons, grandchildren, Brandon (Andrea) Shepard, Jarrod Salmons, Jesse Salmons, Stephen Salmons, Heather Wicker, Calvin (Amber) Salmons, Miracle (Omar) Ruiz, Rick (Frost) Clements and Dave (Wendy) Clements, siblings, Robert (Ann) Clay, Chester Clay, Jr., Kathryn (Frelan) Evans, Bonnie Faulkner (Harlow), Karen (Jerry) Fadley, and Darlene Taylor and special friend, Bob Hayes.  She also has many nieces and nephews, especially Muffin and Peanut and many great grandchildren.

She was also preceded by granddaughter, Jaymie Lynn Salmons, and siblings, James Clay, Curtis Clay, Charles Clay, Doreen Talkington and Myrtle “Ruth” Stacy, sister-in-law, Mable Clay and brother-in-law, Bill Taylor.

Per Kay’s wishes there will be no visitation or services at this time.
