Russell J. Alder, 59, Logansport, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 22, 2022, in the emergency room at Memorial Hospital after suffering a massive heart attack.

Born July 18, 1963, in Logansport, he was the son of the late Larry E. and Janice F. (Layne) Alder.

On February 23, 1990, in Logansport, he was married to Kelly Cotner Alder, who survives.

For 28 years, Russell worked as a heat treat specialist at HTI in Logansport.

Russell was an avid fisherman and an excellent gardener. His sense of humor endeared him to many friends. From his cricket imitations to his endless supply of jokes – Russell was simply fun to be around. More than anything in the world, he loved to spend time with his family. His grandkids called him “Pap” and they loved him dearly.

Surviving with his wife are four children, Jimmy Adair, Brittany Alder, and Katelyn Alder, all of Logansport, and Baylie Alder, of Kokomo; three brothers, Randy (Paula) Alder, Ricky (Mary Ann) Alder, and Robby (Lisa) Alder; one sister, Janell Aler; grandchildren, Austin Adair, Adrianne Adair, Natalie Adair, Kierra Dunfee, Conner Nethercutt, Cameron Eastham, Carsonn Eastham, Oaklynn Eastham; and several bonus grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
