Wesley K. “Pete” Peters, age 62, Logansport, passed away at 12:10 p.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2022, in Memorial Hospital.

Born September 17, 1959, in Logansport, he was the son of Laurel Keith and Martha Templin Peters.

On April 29, 1981, he was married to Karen Landis, who survives.

Wes retired from the Logansport Police Department after 23 years of dedicated service. He was a member of the Logansport FOP and the NRA.

Wes attended Abundant Life Church.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. His creative story telling will be highly missed by anyone who knew him. He always had the best unsolicited advice to give. As many people have told us, “he was the best man I’ve ever known”. He will truly be missed. As his grandson Parker said, “a home isn’t a home without a messy grandpa.”

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, Jesse (Stacia) Peters, Romney, IN; daughters, Shelly (Joe) Popejoy, Logansport, Britni (Jason) Manus, Logansport, Rachel (Steve) Sammons, Mishawaka; bonus daughter, Missy Hayes. sister, Brenda (Kevin) Mundy, Lehigh Acres, FL.

Also surviving are fourteen grandchildren, Jared Baldini, Trey and Bella Popejoy, Jacob, Max, Joshua and Samuel Peters, Briley, Alayna, Averie and Parker Manus, Dade, Olivia and Katelyn Sammons; several nieces and nephews; a loyal best friend for 48 years, Scott Williams and his trusty K-9 sidekick, Gracie.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Wessina Peters and Michelle Rance.

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 25th, at Kroeger Funeral Home. Visitation will also be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday following, prior to the funeral.

The funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 26th, at Kroeger Funeral Home.

Traditional Logansport Police Department honors will be accorded during the services.

Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Cass County.

Kroeger Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
