David L. Baxter

David L. Baxter, 72, of Logansport, went peacefully to be with his Lord on Tuesday, August 23, 2022.

Born on February 8, 1950, David is the son of the late Clarence and Gladys (Zook) Baxter. David was raised in Bringhurst and graduated from Carroll High School in 1968.  On January 8, 1982, David married Kathleen L. “Kathi” Little who survives.

David served in the United States Army from September 1969 until March of 1972, he served in Taiwan as a communication tower repairman. He worked for Wilson Foods for 21 years and Whallon Machinery for 17 years, before retiring in 2010. After being diagnosed with a leg problem, David spent the rest of his days in a wheelchair, with confidence he would walk in glory again.

David loved his wife, children, family, and all of his friends. He was a member of New Life Alliance Church for many years. David enjoyed cutting wood, helping farmers, and being outside.

Surviving along with his wife is a daughter, Katie (AJ) Moon, Idaho; two stepdaughters, Ashley (Dan) Bauer of West Lafayette; Carmin Peterson of Logansport; two sisters, Karen (Alan) East of Brownsburg; Debbie (Jeff) DeYarmon of Kokomo; four grandchildren, Addison and Grant Bauer; Hazel Joy and Wyatt Moon, several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a half-sister, Cora Jane Davis and a half brother Joe Dean Parrott.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at the New Life Alliance Church with Pastor Barry Mooney officiating. Burial will follow at Ever-Rest Memorial Park.

 Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at the church.
