Freda M. Yeakley, 94, of Flora, passed away Sunday, August 28, 2022, at Woodbridge Health Campus in Logansport.

Born on February 9, 1928, in Carroll County, Indiana, Freda is the daughter to the late Harold and Ovena (Randolph) Trapp. She graduated from Camden High School in 1946.  On November 25, 1951, at the home of her parents in Flora, she married Lee Wayne Yeakley who preceded in death on April 14, 2022.

Freda was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was always there for her children. Freda’s passion was sewing, never a pattern she could not master to perfection. As the grandchildren graduated from high school, she made quilts of athletic tee shirts/blue jeans/scraps creating memories of their school years. Later in life she began hand quilting extraordinarily beautiful quilts- perfection was her mantra. She was the go-to-person for recording farm account information and bill paying as a farm wife. She was an accomplished cook- her signature homemade noodles, meringue pies and delicious family meals will be remembered forever by her family.  In her later years, she had also worked at Payne’s Prescription Pharmacy.

Freda and Lee Wayne retired from farming and eventually moved from their home place of 55 years in Cass County, to reside in Flora.  She was a lifetime member of Faith Lutheran Church, where she was always actively involved, especially with special dinners.

Surviving Freda are her children, Barbara (Jim) Payne, Lafayette; Mitchell (Susan) Yeakley, Kokomo; Beth (Everett) Snoeberger, Camden; Jeff (Penny) Yeakley, Galveston; eight grandchildren, Lindsey (Mark) Haugen, Carrie (Chris) White, Jill (Jesse) Daughtery, Jenna (Tanner) Hodson, Brad (Soraya) Payne, Phillip Snoeberger, Neil (Suzy) Snoeberger and Tyler (Kayla) Yeakley; ten great grandchildren; sister, Carolyn Edging of Camden.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Fred and Johnny Trapp.
