Manuel “Manny” Manalo

Manuel “Manny” Manalo, 71, Logansport, passed away Saturday, August 20, 2022, at Dupont Hospital in Fort Wayne.

Born September 25, 1950, in Davao, Philippines, he was the son of the late Francisco and Virginia Manalo. His family immigrated to the United States in 1952.

He was married to Susan (Musselman) Manalo, with whom he spent twenty wonderful years.

Manny was a graduate of Indiana University Kokomo, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. He worked as a registered nurse. Prior to his retirement in 2012, Manny was employed at Logansport State Hospital for nearly 20 years.

Life was an adventure, and Manny loved traveling and motorcycles. Family was his priority and he loved spending time with his loved ones. A lifetime animal lover, Manny enjoyed rescuing cats and caring for them.

Surviving with his wife, Susan, are one son, Robert Jon Manalo, Largo, FL; two step-daughters, Audrey Miller, Logansport, and Veronica (Brian) Bennett, Seattle, WA; one brother, Robert (Faye) Manalo; two sisters, Elizabeth (David) Jordan, and Catalina (Jon) Vishnauski; two grandchildren, Marisa Heston and Chet Manalo; one great-grandchild, Bellamy Heston; parents-in-law, Jim and Rita Musselman; sister-in-law, Kim (Benny) Wisher; brothers-in-law; Scott (Ellen) Musselman, Kevin (Nancy) Musselman, Brian (Sharon) Musselman and Darin (Teresa) Musselman; and several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held Saturday, August 27, 2022, from 10 a.m. to 1p.m. at the Fisher Funeral Chapel.
A funeral service celebrating Manny’s life will follow at 1p.m., with Dawn Fisher officiating.

Interment will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Cass County Humane Society. Pet food may also be brought to the funeral home, where it will be donated to the Humane Society.
