Norma J. (Chapman) Boxell

Norma Jo Chapman Boxell went to be with her Lord and Savior at 1:45am on September 21st while in the care of her loved ones.

She was born on May 18, 1930 in South Bend, Indiana to Joseph and Wilma (Brooks) Chapman.

On March 16, 1952, in Logansport, she was united in marriage to Donald Merritt Boxell. They enjoyed 63 years of marriage together. Don preceded her in death on March 5, 2015.

A 1948 graduate of Lucerne High School, Norma went on to graduate from Wright’s Beauty School in 1950.

She worked at Faye’s Beauty Shop in downtown Logansport for 20 years and then worked for the Logansport Community School Corporation for many years.

Norma loved her family and enjoyed reading her Bible, singing hymns, and teaching others about Christ.

She attended and was a member of New Life Alliance Church in Logansport, Indiana for more than 60 years. Norma loved the Lord and her church family. She was a devoted prayer warrior and enjoyed serving others.

Surviving are three sons, Keith Alan Boxell (wife Nancy), Robert Warren Boxell (wife Joan) and Richard Max Boxell, all of Logansport; two daughters, Joette Alayne Hutchcraft (husband Drew) of West Lafayette and Jennifer Kay Folkers (husband Lynn) of Hot Springs, AR; one sister, Wanda Jean Zoller of Middlebury; eleven grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Janice and Jeannine Boxell; two sisters, Janet E. Young and Virginia M. Riedel.

A funeral service celebrating Norma’s life will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, September 26th in Fisher Funeral Chapel with Pastor Barry Mooney officiating. Visitation will take place beginning at 11:00am up to the time of the service. Burial will follow in Everest Memorial Park.
