George Robert “Bob” Odom

George Robert “Bob” Odom, age 85, Logansport, passed away at 4:45 p.m. Friday, October 21, 2022, at Miller’s Merry Manor.

Born Thursday, October 29, 1936, in Logansport, he was the son of Robert Sylvester and Helen Viola Toothman Odom.

On June 3, 1961, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Logansport, he married Pamela Rogers, who survives.

Bob was retired in 2007 from outside sales at Baker Specialty & Supply after 42 years of employment.

Bob graduated from High School in the Alaska Territory (as it was then called). Following graduation, he served in the United States Army stationed in Alaska. It was during his time in Alaska that the Territory became the 49th State.

He enjoyed fishing in Canada, working on genealogy, playing the guitar and spending time with his family. He especially enjoyed and cherished the time spent in Hoover, Indiana, with his grandfather, Ed Toothman, who taught him to hunt and fish.

Surviving in addition to his wife, are daughters, Cynthia Taylor, Walton, Melanie (Jeff) Moss, and Tamara (James) Stokes, all of Logansport; son, Timothy Wayne (Glenda) Odom, Shelbyville, Tenn.; sisters, Janie (Glen) Jarvis and Patty Razer, and a bonus daughter, Tami Fox.

Also surviving are ten grandchildren. Brittany Odom (Chapman), Brandon Odom, Ashley and Terry Bapp, Brandi Colter, Nathan and Brittney Moss, Brent Moss, Nick and Erica Keller, Tabatha and Marcus Rombold, William and Hope Stokes, Jesse and Etalie Stokes; twenty-six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were a grandson, Jared Moss; brothers, Donald Odom and Michael Odom; sister, Sandra Bixler.

A Memorial Visitation and Celebration of Bob’s life will be from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 12th, at Kroeger Funeral Home.

The interment of Bob’s cremated remains will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, just prior to the visitation, at Mount Hope Cemetery. A procession to Mount Hope Cemetery will form at Kroeger Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
