Last Updated on November 20, 2022 by Fisher Funeral Chapel

Betty Lou Krutz, 80, Logansport, passed away early Saturday, November 19, 2022 in the Ascension St. Vincent hospital, Kokomo, following a massive stroke on Thursday.

Born December 4, 1941, in Logansport, she was the daughter of the late Victor and Helen (Boatman) Fitzer.

On July 2, 1976, in Chalmers, she married the love of her life, Wayne Krutz. He preceded her in death February 17, 1994.

Betty was a graduate of Logansport High School. As a young woman, she worked for H.W. Gossard as a seamstress. She is best known for the many years she worked at the Burger Barn as a cook. She was a people person who loved interacting with co-workers and customers, sharing her beautiful smile and contagious laughter.

Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren kept her young and Betty enjoyed chauffeuring them to all of their activities and sporting events. She was an excellent cook with the gift of hospitality – if you left her house hungry, it was your own fault. In addition to being an excellent seamstress, she cross-stitched many beautiful pieces. Area V was part of her daily routine for several years – she loved playing cards there and helping in the kitchen.

She is survived by her son, Dale Campbell, Walton; two stepchildren, Joe (Sherry) Krutz, and Kim (Roy) Goins; two siblings, Jim (Kelly) Fitzer, and Jean Flora; two grandchildren, Alicia (Larry) Cunningham, and Cody (Grace Zook) Campbell; and five great-grandchildren, Veronika Malott, Zabrena Cunningham, Osten Cunningham, Jackson Zook, and Wyatt Campbell.

Betty was preceded in death by her grandson, Cole R. Campbell; and her great-granddaughter, Elexandra Cunningham.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until noon on Wednesday, November 23, in Fisher Funeral Chapel with Pastor Bruce Fultz officiating.

Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.
