E. Marlene Rozzi

E. Marlene Rozzi, age 83, Logansport, passed away on Thanksgiving evening, Thursday, November 24, 2022, in Ascension St. Vincent Kokomo.

Born in Leiters Ford on April 9, 1939, she was the daughter of Emerson and Merle (McManus) Reichard.

Marlene graduated from Aubbeenuabee Township High School in 1957. She graduated from Weddington’s Beauty College and was a hair stylist for over 45 years.

She worked for Wright’s Beauty College then became a cosmetologist instructor and owned her own shop  called The Beauty Mark. After closing The Beauty Mark, she worked for Bill Wright at HCO. Later she owned and operated Logansport Beauty Academy, and then afterwards, Marlene and Elaine’s Full Service Salon. She retired in 2002.

Marlene loved going to horse races with Wayne and spending time at – and doing whatever was needed done – at the Logansport Shrine Club. In earlier years, she enjoyed golfing and bowling.  She was an avid reader. She loved knitting blankets and sweaters and would make any special requested items when asked. She enjoyed attending the ball games and activities of her grandchildren.

She was a member of All Saints Catholic Church.

Surviving Marlene are her children, Charles ‘Chip’ (Paula) Rozzi, Nikki (Chris) Mahaney and Robert ‘Bobby’ (Joyce) Rozzi; grandchildren, Christopher Aaron Rozzi, Robert ‘Rob’ (Nadia) Mahaney, Morgan Mahaney (Conner) Barnett, Molly Mahaney, Jordan Rozzi, and Christopher (Shelby) Rozzi; step grandchildren, Andrew Sawyer, Stephanie Sawyer McIntyre and Ericka Cosby; also, great grandchildren, Ada Rose Mahaney, Granger Snyder and Brielle Rozzi; and her companion of 35 years, Wayne Baldwin.

Preceding Marlene in death were sister, Marilyn Reichard Strahle; and step grandchildren, Michael Sawyer and Charles Sawyer.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, December 2, 2022, at All Saints Catholic Church, with Fr. Kyle Neterer officiating. The luncheon will follow in the Parish Hall, where everyone is encouraged to share stories about Marlene.

Private interment in the Leiters Ford I.O.O.F. Cemetery will be at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Logansport Shrine Club, 415 High Street, Logansport, 46947.
