Harry J. Richter

Harry J. Richter, 84, of Rochester, passed away Saturday, November 26, 2022, at Woodbridge Health Campus in Logansport.

Born on June 6, 1938, in Fulton, Indiana, Harry is the son of the late Ernest P. and Jennie (Gundrum) Richter.  On June 19, 1960, in Lucerne, Harry married Dorothy Jean Douglass who survives.

Harry was a graduate of Notre Dame University and a United States Army Veteran. He was a vice president and manager of the Kewanna branch of Farmers and Merchants Bank and a member, deacon and elder of the Lucerne Christian Church. Harry was a former member of the Fulton County 4-H Fair Board and several other community organizations. He enjoyed a good game of euchre and fishing trips to Wisconsin which he has passed onto his children and grandsons.

Surviving Harry, along with his wife Dorothy, are two sons, Brian (Jennifer) Richter of Rochester; Todd Richter of Rochester; two grandsons, Nicolas and fiancée Mackenzie Howard, Rochester;  Blake (Abbey Hanson) Richter, Rochester; two sisters, Donna Carvey of Macy; Helen L. Brutcher of Logansport; several nieces and nephews.

Harry was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank Richter, Dean Richter and one sister, Mary Ross.

A funeral service for Harry, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 1, 2022, at the Lucerne Christian Church, 1585 W. Frushour Street, Lucerne, IN 46950, with Pastor Dirk Raderstorf officiating. Burial will follow in the Fulton Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at Gundrum Funeral Home. There will also be visitation from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the Lucerne Christian Church.

Memorials may be made to the Lucerne Christian Church or the Fulton Community Center in care of Gundrum Funeral Home.
