James “Jim” Robert Seehase, Jr., 76, passed away Monday, November 14, 2022, at Woodbridge Health Campus, where he had resided for the past four years.

Born February 18, 1946, in Logansport, he was the son of the late James “Bob” Robert Seehase, Sr. and Frankie Dean (Parker) Seehase.

After graduation from Washington Township (Lewis Cass) High School in 1964,

Jim joined the United States Air Force and served 4 years during the Vietnam War era, being stationed at Columbia, South Carolina.

During his time in South Carolina, he was the maître d’ for a supper club, the Circus Room, at the Coronet Motel.

Upon returning to his home near Royal Center, he worked selling advertising for Thomas D. Murphy Co.in Red Oak, Iowa. Later the business changed their name to Promotional Concepts for which he worked for 52 years. Jim earned Top Salesman of the Year several years in his career. He was recognized all over the nation for his ability to sell advertising. Jim also worked on the family farm during this time. 

He attended Crooked Creek Christian Church. Jim was involved in the Royal Center Jaycees, Roosters of Cass County, Royal Center Lions, Murat Shrine, Logansport Shrine Club, Masonic Lodge and the Scottish Rite.

Jim truly enjoyed watching the New York Yankees baseball team. When it came to baseball season the only team worth watching were the New York Yankees. In 1981 he attended a game and was able to have George Steinman-owner of the New York Yankees, sign Jim’s custom license plate “YANKEE” and get his picture taken with him. It was a day that Jim talked about all the time.

He had a passion for old cars-Lincoln & Minneapolis Moline tractors and his dog “Critter”.

He is survived by his siblings, Fred Seehase and Cindy (Kevin) Scott; niece and nephews – Stephanie (Blake) Mollenkopf, Wes & (Grace) Scott, Duane Scott & Cody (Jennifer) Scott; great nieces and nephews – Kinzie, Gavin, Logan, & Remley Mollenkopf, Keaton & Quinn Scott, Carter, Cora, & Colette Scott, Chloe & Jarrett Scott.

Along with his mother & father, brother Rick Seehase preceded him in death.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, November 20 in Fisher Funeral Chapel where a Masonic Service will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. follow by a Shrine Processional.

A funeral service celebrating Jim’s life will held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 21 in Fisher Funeral Chapel.

Pastor Cole Westwood will officiate.

Burial, with full military honors, will be in the Corinth Brethren Cemetery, Twelve Mile, Indiana.

The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the staff at Woodbridge Health Campus for the care that they gave Jim during his stay.
