Mabel L. Sullivan, 98, of Burlington, NC, formerly of Twelve Mile, passed away surrounded by her family, on November 16, 2022, at Twin Lakes Living Community in Burlington, NC.
Born on May 12, 1924, in Roanoke, IN, Mabel is the daughter of the late Oscar and Cora (Stocker) Crill. On January 2, 1948, in Logansport, she married Vernon “Jay” Sullivan who preceded in death on March 7, 1996.
Mabel had worked as a supervisor for Hart-Schaffner & Marx in Rochester. Mabel enjoyed playing Euchre, Dominos and spending time with her family.
Surviving Mabel is her son, Mike (Cookie) Runkle of Mebane, NC, 6 grandchildren, Cora Blesmon, Naomi Farley, Robin Rogers, Kelly Watson, Jeremy Runkle and Michael J. Runkle; 3 step grandchildren, Jonathan Richardson, Juli Lefler and Robin Richardson; 9 great grandchildren, 12 step great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren.
Mabel was preceded in death by a sister, and four brothers.
A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 21, 2022, at Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Dean Snyder officiating. Burial will follow in the Corinth Brethren Cemetery near Twelve Mile.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service on Monday, also in the funeral home.
