Ruth McRae

Ruth McRae, 91, of Galveston, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at 6:46 p.m. Sunday, October 30, 2022, at Memorial Hospital in Logansport.   She was born September 20, 1931, in Vincennes, Indiana to Hobart and Martha (Hawkins) Webber.   She married Marvin McRae on May 10, 1952, in Vincennes, Indiana.  Marvin preceded her in death on April 4, 1995.   Ruth was a homemaker and assisted her husband delivering mobile homes for many years.

She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene in Kokomo and enjoyed gardening and canning all kinds of goodies for her family. Family was very dear to her.  She loved each one of them.

Surviving family include her children, Don (Merita) McRae of Westminster, South Carolina, and Diana (Janelle)  McRae-Jones of Logansport, Indiana.  Surviving grandchildren include, Shane (Deanna) McRae, Shawn (Kelly) McRae, Jaimie (Jason) Moore, Kari (Pete) May, Crystal (Kevin) Gibson, Denice (Pete) Toole, Tonya (Tato) Marrero, Abby (Brandon) Armick, Kelsey (Todd) Evans, and Zac (Brandi) Lacher.  Great grandchildren are, Drew (Emily) McRae, Carley McRae, Alex (Cassie Hanna) Jones, Donovan Johnson, Preston (Shelby Graves) Jones, Olivia McRae, Audrey McRae, Lawson McRae, Garrett McRae, Brodie McRae, Lynlea McRae, Drake Gunion, Kaylie Gunion, Gracie Moore, Brittany (Paityn) Nielsen, Natalie Moore, Tera Toole, Madison (Kyle) Griffin, David Toole, Katie Toole, Alexis Marrero, Ethan Marrero, Ryleigh Gibson, Parker Gibson, Evie Gibson, Hunter Lesher, Owen Lesher, Kayleigh Armick, Mia Armick, Lakynn Armick, Addlie Griffith, Jameson Evans, McKenzie Evans, Elana Popejoy, and Leila Popejoy.   She is also survived by great-great-grandchildren, Carter, Mason, Michael, Zoey, Olivia, McKenzie, Hunter, Jasper and Ryker; siblings, Edna Chambers,  Archie Webber and Linda Woliver; a special caregiver and niece, Linda Nunnally and several other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Marvin, grandson, Kacy Jones and one sister and 5 brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 3, 2022, at First Church of the Nazarene, 2734 S. Washington St. in Kokomo.  Burial will follow in the Galveston Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until the time of services at the church Thursday.   In lieu of flowers, donations can made online at www.murrayweaverfuneralhome.com to assist with funeral expenses.
