Thanksgiving activities and closings

Thanksgiving is Thursday, Nov. 24, 2022.

LOGANSPORT TRASH PICK-UP: Republic Services will be operating the normal schedules on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday but there will be no trash & recycling pick up on Thursday, Nov. 24.  The Republic Services schedule shows that Thursday routes for City of Logansport residents will be collected on Friday and Friday routes will be collected on Saturday.  For questions please call Republic Services at 800-989-2539.

GALVESTON TRASH PICK-UP will be Saturday, Nov. 26, 2022.

WALTON TRASH PICK-UP will be Friday, Nov. 25, 2022.

ROYAL CENTER: Apex will be collecting for the town of Royal Center on Saturday, Nov. 26, 2022.


Logansport City Building & Logansport Utilities offices will be closed Thursday, Nov. 24 and Friday, Nov. 25, 2022.

Cass County Government Building (courthouse) will be closed Thursday, Nov. 24 & Friday, Nov. 25.

Eel Township Trustee’s Office will be closing at noon on Wednesday, Nov. 23 for the Thanksgiving holiday. They will re-open on Monday, Nov. 28 at 8:30 a.m.

Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicle (BMV) branches will be closed Thursday, Nov. 24—Saturday, Nov. 26 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday and will resume regular business hours on Monday, Nov. 28. There will be no mail delivery and post offices will be closed Thursday, Nov. 24.


The 24th Annual Turkey Trot will be held on Thanksgiving morning (Nov. 24) at the Cass County YMCA. You may encounter road closures along the route during the event.

The 6th Annual Christmas in the Park Drive-Through hosted by the Logansport Parks and Recreation Foundation Nov. 25 – Jan. 2 at Spencer Park, 3319 High Street in Logansport.  Lights on from dusk to dawn. Monday and Tuesday nights are walk-through only – enter from East Broadway / Cass Plaza Road. Free will donations accepted.

The Cass County Carousel will be open both Friday, November 25, and Saturday November 26, 2022 from 1-5 p.m. The Cass County Community Foundation’s “Thanks-for Giving” Grant will provide funds to be used to pay the expenses for the Carousel’s Friday and Saturday opening after the Thanksgiving holiday and will allow all rides to be free. | More info

The Light Up Logansport Parade will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 25, 2022.
