Betty J. Ramer

Betty J. Ramer, 91 of Kokomo, passed away Thursday, December 8, 2022, at Wellbrooke of Kokomo.

Born on March 23, 1931, in Walton, Indiana, Betty is the daughter of the late Cecil E. and Mary Helen (Kunkle) Davis.  On November 12, 1949, Betty married John W. Ramer who preceded in death on August 19, 2019.

Betty was a bus driver for the Southeastern School Corporation. She was a member of the Anoka United Methodist Church and former member of the Union Presbyterian Church.

Betty loved being outside, gardening and especially mowing; she took great pride in keeping her yard and flower beds in pristine condition.  She was a gifted musician and enjoyed playing the piano and organ.  Most important to Betty was her family, she enjoyed every moment she spent with them.

Surviving Betty are her two children, Sue (Jim) Allbaugh of Bringhurst; Dennis (Jodie) Ramer of Walton; daughter in law, Cathy Ramer of Burlington; six grandchildren, Ryan (Melinda) Allbaugh, Jared (Janelle) Allbaugh, Justin (Haley) Ramer, Adam (Mariah) Ramer, David Ramer and Jenilee (Jerrid) Jobe; great grandchildren, Emlyn (Cassius) Sherwin, Rhys Allbaugh, Emma Allbaugh, Anna Allbaugh, Cade Allbaugh, Jayden Ramer, Lynnsey Ramer, Sydney Ramer, Henry Ramer and Jakob Ramer; brother, Robert L. (Joan) Davis of Walton; brother and sister in laws, Robert (Patsy) Ramer.

Betty was preceded in death by a son, Gary Ramer, grandsons Eric Burke and Matthew Ramer.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 16, 2022, with Pastor Doug Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at the Ramer Cemetery near Walton.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 15, 2022, also in the funeral home. There will be an hour of visitation prior to the funeral on Friday morning. 

Memorials may be made to the Anoka United Methodist Church or the Ramer Cemetery.
