William S. Bowman

William S. Bowman, age 89, Logansport, passed away at 2:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, in his residence.

Born August 25, 1933, in Cass County, he was the son of Samuel P. and Mildred Cart Bowman.

Bill was married to Mary C. Wagner in Springfield, Tennessee, on January 2, 1970. She preceded him in death May 6, 2012. He was later married in Faith Lutheran Church on July 21, 2018, to Jan (Shedron) Alberico, who survives.

Bill was a 1952 graduate of New Waverly High School, where he was the leading player on the school’s basketball team. Following graduation, he served in the United Army during the Korean War. Bill was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3790 and American Legion Post 60.

He retired from Farm Bureau Co-op in Logansport.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are sons, Steve (wife, Tressa) Bowman, Bryan Bowman; daughters, Tammy (husband, Matt) Ruel, Judy (husband, Doug) Hardy, Janet (husband, Troy) Erny; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews survive as well.

Also surviving are brothers, Herbert Bowman, Gerald Bowman and Richard Bowman. 

He was preceded in death by a daughter, JoAnn Brazzle; brothers, Ron Bowman, Marion Bowman, Truman Bowman, Hubert Bowman, Raymond Bowman, Victor Bowman, John Bowman, Larry Bowman and sister, Janice Holmes.

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 2nd, at Kroeger Funeral Home. Also, visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 12 noon Saturday, prior to the funeral.

The funeral service and celebration of Bill’s life is scheduled for 12 noon Saturday, December 3rd, at the Kroeger Funeral Home. Pastor Kristen Schmid will officiate.

Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery with full military honors provided by the Cass County Honor Guard and uniformed, active-duty members of the United States Army.
