Anita Sue Closson

Anita Sue Closson, age 76, Logansport, went to be with her Lord and Savior, on Saturday, January 28, 2023.

Born in Fort Wayne on October 19, 1946, she was the daughter of Frederick and Lillian (Kroll) Franz, both of whom preceded her in death.

On June 10, 1972, in Fort Wayne, she was married to Michael C. Closson, who survives.

Anita attended Bethlehem Lutheran Elementary School and Concordia Lutheran High School. She graduated from Ball State University in 1968 with a bachelor’s degree, majoring in Sociology and American History, and with a minor in Business Administration.

She had been employed by American Airlines, The National Bank of Logansport and Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance prior to working for 28 years for the Cass County Welfare Department. She retired as Director of the Department of Child Services in January 2008.

Also surviving are sister, Ann Butterfield, Wolcottville; nieces, Brittany (Steve) Mishler, Fort Wayne and Braden (Jeremy) McKinley, Kendallville; nephews, Corey and Shannon Closson, Mexico; grandnephews, Cooper Mishler and Matthew, Andrew, Jackson and Lucas McKinley; and sister-in-law: Christine Closson (Thomas) Barr, Scottsdale, Arizona.

Anita’s visitation will be on Saturday, February 4, 2023, from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m., at Shiloh Christian Church, with the service following at 3:00 p.m., also at the church. Pastors Mark Marshall and Nick Gordon will officiate.

Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery at a later date.
