Gavin R. Johnson loving son, awesome brother, joyful grandson, nice nephew, caring cousin and faithful friend died unexpectedly Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at his grandfather’s residence in Monticello.
Born on July 3, 2002 in Illinois, he was the son of Brian Johnson and Desiree Chvatal. Gavin is a 2020 Carroll High School graduate and had participated on the swim and cross county teams. He also participated for a number of years in the youth group at Lifegate church.
He enjoyed running, fishing, hiking and camping with his dad and spending time with friends. Gavin was a gifted artist and his drawings were very creative. Gavin mostly enjoyed having fun with friends. He was adored by his little brother Isaac to which he was an amazing big brother. He is deeply missed by his friends, family and all who knew him.
Survivors include his parents Brian and Beth Johnson and brother Isaac of Flora. Grandparents Lowell and Janice Johnson of Flora, Ralph Chvatal of Monticello, Gary and Carol Kinsey of Logansport and Mike and Georgene Tedlock of Galveston. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Saturday, January 14, 2023 at the Flora United Methodist Church, 103 E. Main St., Flora IN.
A Celebration of Life Service for Gavin will immediately follow.
The family has requested in lieu of flowers to please consider making memorial contributions in memory of Gavin to the work of Celebrate Recovery at the Logansport Church of the Brethren. Checks can be written out to Celebrate Recovery.
