Last Updated on January 25, 2023 by Kroeger Funeral Home

Mark Allen Ensfield, 64, Logansport, passed away at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette on the morning of January 21, 2023.

Born in Logansport on November 13, 1958, Mark was the son of Robert W. and Ruth Ann (Gilsinger) Ensfield, who both preceded him in death.

Mark spent a majority of his school years attending, and later graduating from, Saint Coletta’s School in Jefferson, Wisconsin.

He devoted many years to his job at New Beginnings Daycare in Logansport as a janitor. He was proud to say that he retired a few years ago and was able to spend more time enjoying his new apartment and doing the things he loved.

Mark enjoyed listening to the radio- specifically 102.3,  watching, “Everybody Loves Raymond” and the seasonal Charlie Brown movies, chatting on the phone with family and friends, and his long walks when the weather was nice.  At the end of every week, Mark would go out to run his errands where he met many people who touched his life, and he theirs.  He knew everything about anything, and he wasn’t shy when sharing his knowledge of facts with anyone who would listen.

In recent years, he attended New Beginnings Church where the members and staff were so kind and loving towards him.

Mark’s family would like to thank everyone who invested in his life and showed him love and grace.   His relationships meant the world to him.

Surviving are one brother, Mike (Nancy) Ensfield; two nieces, Sarah (Corey) Stow and Emma (Jimmy) Smith; great-nephew, Sawyer Stow; and great-nieces Finley and Lenora Smith, all of Walton.   He is also survived by extended family members and friends, whom he loved.

Preceding him in death along with his parents, Bob and Ruth Ann, was his step-father, Charles Waddups.

The funeral service will be at Kroeger Funeral Home on Friday, January 27, 2023, at 12:00 Noon, with Pastor Jeff Timmons officiating.

Visitation will be held one hour before the service, from 11:00 a.m. until noon.

Burial will follow the service at Mount Hope Cemetery.
