Francis C. Bell, 78, of Royal Center passed away peacefully at 7:50 a.m., Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at home surrounded by family.

Born on August 17, 1944 in South Bend, he was the son of the late Tyrus and Frances (Zauss) Bell.

He was a 1965 Logansport High School graduate.

Francis was a U.S. Navy veteran and served aboard the USS Forrestal and the USS Truxton.

On April 12, 1974 he married Sandra Dempsey.

He retired as a car repairman from Norfolk Southern Railroad after 30 years.

Francis enjoyed working with his hands, yardwork, hunting and was an animal lover.

Survivors include his wife, Sandy Bell of Royal Center, son, Craig Grandstaff (Brandy) of Logansport, brothers, Robert Bell (Pat) of South Bend and Mike Bell of Indianapolis, grandchildren, Brittany Foulks (Ryan) of Burnettsville and Levi Grandstaff (Chloe) of Winamac and great grandchildren, Jeremiah, Sawyer and Jake.

He was also preceded in death by brothers, Kenny Bell, Ty Bell and Jerry Bell and sisters, Kaye Gray and Karen Chrisman.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 10, 2023 at Rans Funeral Homes & Crematory, Harrison Chapel, 304 S. Chicago St., Royal Center with Pastor Bruce Fultz officiating. 

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

Burial with military rites will be performed at Ever Rest Memorial Park.
