Gary Steven “Steve” Easley

Gary Steven “Steve” Easley, 71, of Logansport, passed away Monday, February 6, 2023, in his residence, surrounded by his family.

Born on August 9, 1951, in Logansport, Steve is the son of the late Hank Easley and Jacqueline (Haynes) Smith.  On July 8, 1978, in Lucerne, IN, Steve married Pamela A. Morphet who preceded in death on April 16, 2018.

Steve was a 1969 graduate of Logansport High School, he also graduated from Purdue University.  He was an operations manager at Federal Mogul. Steve had also worked for Champion Spark Plug, the Cass County Highway Dept., and the Dilling Group.

Steve loved his family, especially watching his grandchildren play sports. He was an avid Indiana University Basketball fan, and Notre Dame Football fan.

Surviving Steve are his two sons, Nathan (Melissa) Easley of Franklin, TN; Maj. Scott (Kelly) Easley USMC, of Lithia, FL; seven grandchildren, Madeline, Mackenzie, Michael, Brayden, and Maverick Easley; Quinn and Max Candela; four siblings, Barbara Jo (Virgil) Parker of Logansport; Beverly (Richard) Babb of Logansport; Joyce Sandberg of Logansport; Kenny (Rhonda) Smith of Noblesville; three half siblings, Denise Gumm; Mark Easley; and Cindy DeVault; several nieces and nephews, friends and family.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie Reinholt.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 10, 2023 at Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Strite officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, Logansport.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 9, 2023, also in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Semper Fi Fund, Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation, Cass County Special Olympics or to your favorite charity, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
