Inés Cuartas Miller of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, passed from this earthly existence peacefully in her home at 2 AM on Friday, February 10, 2023.  She was with her husband and caregiver, Ronald V. Miller, Sr.

The youngest of 11 siblings, Inés came into this world on June 27, 1934, in the town of Armero, Tolima, Colombia, to father Julio Cuartas Duque and mother María Luisa Rubio Vasquez.  She was the last to survive and finally join them in the Heavenly Plane.

Inés was formally educated in Bogota, Colombia, at an all-girls catholic school, graduating in 1957.  Professionally, she attained her Florida reality license in 1990, and split her time between work and maintaining the Miller household.  In 1992 she achieved the proud accomplishment of U.S. Citizenship with the aid of her English as a Second Language studies at the Fort Lauderdale High School Adult Center.  Until recent years, Ines made a custom of traveling to Colombia annually during summertime to visit with family and friends.

She met future husband Ronald, Sr., in Cali, Colombia, during a Purdue University Band tour to that country in December 1964.  Their love would blossom until their marriage at New York City Hall on May 31, 1967.  They would share 55 years of marriage until her passing, always by Ronald’s side.  They have a son, Ronald V. Miller, Jr., along with three grandchildren:  Edward, Johann, and Hanna.  She is survived by an extended family of nieces and nephews along with her loving husband, son, and three grandchildren.

Funeral Arrangements are being conducted by the Rans Funeral Home Metzger Chapel in Kewanna, IN, with final resting place at I.O.O.F. Citizens’ Cemetery.
