Kathleen S. Beck, 92, of Walton, went home to be with the Lord at 2:04 a.m. Thursday, February 23, 2023, at The Brickyard Health Care Center of Kokomo. She was born July 15, 1930, in Logansport to Fred and Grace (Ward) Smith. She married the love of her life, Bill M. Beck in September of 1949 at the Salem Church near Deacon, Indiana. Bill preceded her in death on April 15, 2010.
Katie was a member of the Upper Deer Creek Church in Galveston. She was also a member of the sugar and spice home ec club for many years. She was an amazing cook and loved and cherished her family dearly.
Surviving family include her children, Randy and wife Jane Beck of Galveston; Garry and wife Joanie Beck of Walton; and Linda and husband Kenny Feltis of Walton. Her grandchildren include, Stacy (Andy) Martin, Joshua (Jamie) Beck, Brian (Alicia) Beck, Ashley (Bryan) Anderson, Abby (Blake) Guy, Brandon (Kathryn) Beck, Cory (Stephanie) Beck, and Justin Feltis. She is also blessed with 22 great grandchildren, Alexis, Carson, Tanner, Maddie, Charlie, Ellie, Natalie, Jack, Maleena, Miles, Maizie, Rowan, Reagan, Maddox, DeClan, McCoy, Aria, Kaia, Eva, Allie, Kennedy, Mason and one great great grandson, Finnley. She is also survived by one brother Stan and wife Nancy Smith. Katie was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bill, brother, Eugene and his wife Donna Lou, and brothers and sisters in law, Joe and Ruth Beck, Norm and Jane Beck, Bessie and Jim McCoy, Gene Beck and Charles Beck.
A Celebration of Katie’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at Upper Deer Creek Church in Galveston with Pastor Mark Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Center Cemetery north of Young America. A time of visiting with family will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
The family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to the staff of The Brickyard Health Care Center and Gentiva Hospice for the excelent care given to Katie in her final days.
