Debra S. “Debi” (DeWitt) Trapp, 64. of Logansport, Indiana, was surrounded by her loving family, when she passed away Monday evening, February 27, 2023, at home.

Born December 3, 1958, in Logansport, she was the daughter of Harold Gene DeWitt and Janet Claire Obenchain.

Debi was a 1976 graduate of Logansport High School.

On August 21, 1976, in Logansport, she was married to Louis “Lou” Trapp, who survives.

The couple moved to LaGrange, Georgia, in 1983. Debi worked as a drug and alcohol case manager for Troup County, Georgia for seven years.

In November of 2022, Debi was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor which led them back home to Logansport where she could spend quality time with family.

Debi was an avid crafter – a hobby she enjoyed alongside her husband. She had a very creative spark about her. Debi was an excellent cook who used the produce she grew in her garden to the advantage of anyone lucky enough to dine at her table.Debi could best be remembered for her love of animals. Throughout her life, she took in countless animals to love and protect.

Surviving with her husband, Lou, of 46 years, is her mother, Janet Obenchain, Logansport; a brother, Robert (Rita) DeWitt; two sisters, Lynne Martin and Cheryl Colee; and several nieces and nephews, including Cj Gilsinger and his wife, Marisa, who was more like a son to them, along with their children, who they loved as grandchildren, Marynn, Esther, Jude, and Jonah Gilsinger. Debi is also survived by her mother-in-law, Norma Trapp; and sisters-in-law, Peggy (John) Ruff and Lynne (Kevin) Bonnell.

She was preceded in death by father, Harold Gene DeWitt; her father-in-law, Cecil Trapp; and one brother-in-law, Richard Miles.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Burial will be private.
