James “Jim” F. Park

James “Jim” Frederick Park, 53, of Kokomo, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, March 4, 2023, at his home.   He was born April 29, 1969, in San Diego, CA to David D. and Betty (Maly) Park.  He married Shelley Anne Russell on June 11, 2005, in Kokomo, at Judson Road Christian Church and she survives.

Jim retired from the United States Air Force in 2014, with over 20 years’ service.  He continued working in Civil Service for the 74th Air Refueling Wing after retirement at Grissom Air Reserve Base.  He was a member of Judson Road Christian Church in Kokomo where he served on the Church Security Team and worked with kids in the Fight Club.  He made lifetime bonds with the kids he worked with through the years.  Jim was also involved with the Great Banquet Community in the Kokomo area.  Jim enjoyed building models in his spare time and spending time with his family.  He was an intentional protector of his family, his church and his country.  He loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with all of his heart.

Surviving family include his wife Shelley, his children, Rebekah, Nicholas and Liam, his mother, Betty, and sister Aimee and her husband Scott Glogowski and his mother and father-in-law, Ron and Connie Russell.  He is preceded in death by his father David and his maternal and paternal grandparents.

A celebration of Jim’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 11, 2023, at Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston with Pastor Jason Double officiating.  Visitation will be held on Friday, March 10th, from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 12:00 noon until the time of services at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Judson Road Kids, Lewis Cass Athletics, or the Lewis Cass Youth League in Jim’s memory.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston. www.murrayweaverfuneralhome.com
