Last Updated on March 23, 2023 by Fisher Funeral Chapel

James “Jim” Loposser, 56, Rochester, formerly of Logansport, passed away at 10:20 p.m. Monday, March 20, 2023, at the South Bend Memorial Hospital. Back in October, Jim was diagnosed with metastatic cancer. He fought valiantly, defying many expectations while never losing faith.

Born October 24, 1966, in Logansport, he was the son of the late Robert E. and Faith Joy (Sarver) Loposser.

Jim was a 1985 graduate of Logansport High School. He was currently employed as a sales representative for S. Abraham & Sons, Inc. in Rochester.

Before moving to Rochester, Jim attended the First U.M. Church, now known as Church of the Good Shepherd, with his family. He was an avid Purdue fan when it came to football and basketball. He loved getting together with family and friends to tailgate. He enjoyed golfing as well as spending time around Lake Manitou with all the activities associated with living the “lake life.” Jim was so proud of his children. Being able to visit them and create new memories during all their traveling adventures was simply the best. His most treasured place was Tennessee, where he spent his summers as a kid working on his grandparents’ farm. He loved being able to share that with his children.

Surviving are one son, Joseph “Joe” Loposser, of Boulder, CO, and two daughters who are attending college, Sophia Loposser, of NYC, New York, and Mia Loposser, Stanford, California; two brothers, Kevin (Linda) Loposser, of New Waverly and Jon (Lisa) Loposser, of Logansport, and one sister, Carrie (Dan) Cox, of Walton; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 24 at the Fisher Funeral Chapel, Logansport.

A funeral service celebrating Jim’s life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 25 in the funeral chapel.

Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery, Logansport.
