Larry Gene Price, 80, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 10, 2023.

He was born in Logansport, Indiana on Thursday June 11, 1942, to the late Harvey Earl and Bette Mae Price. They lived near Rockfield, Indiana, in Carroll County. He was a 1960 graduate of Burnettsville High School.

Larry never knew a stranger and if you were lucky enough to encounter him, you surely wouldn’t get away without getting one of his famous hugs. Those especially close to him always received a wink, too. He loved his family and loved having them around. He enjoyed sports, and especially loved watching his children and grandchildren play ball. It didn’t matter what sports season it was, there was always a ball game on the TV. He truly enjoyed any college sports teams in the state of Indiana, and the Chicago Cubs. In his earlier years, Larry played for the semi-pro hometown football team known as the Logansport Lancers.

Larry was a passionate outdoorsman and handed this passion down to his children and grandchildren. He loved nothing more than being in the woods. He hunted deer, turkey, wild mushrooms, and even the occasional squirrel or rabbit. If you were in his life, you were going to be with him in the woods. Larry was an original founding member of the Carroll County Bowhunters Association. He was also a founding member of the Twin Rivers Strutters NWTF Chapter

For 45 years, he worked at Rockwell International/Matthew Warren Incorporated in Logansport, Indiana. Larry was a Journeyman Millwright and was a proud member of the United Steelworkers of America.  He was a Carroll County Sheriff Reserve Deputy for a few years in the ‘80’s (NOT KIDDING.)

Larry is survived by his wife, Nikki, of 35 years; sons, Matthew Price (wife Stephanie), Christopher Price (wife Cindy), and Blake Benefiel (wife Toni); and daughters, Shelly Price (husband Steve), and Heike (Benefiel) Ramsey. He leaves behind thirteen grandchildren, Bailey Pritts (husband Tom), Connor Price, Logan Price, Reese Baber, Weston Baber, Brooklyn (Baber) Thomas (husband Clayton), Nathanael Price, Eli Price (wife Allison), Ashlynn (Price) Christianson (husband D.J.), Noah Ramsey, Riley Ramsey, Cole Benefiel, and Seth Benefiel; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Mike Price and his sister, Becky (Price) Eddy.

Visitation hours will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 15, in Fisher Funeral Chapel, Logansport.  The funeral service celebrating Larry’s life will follow at 3 p.m. with Pastor Doug Thomas officiating.

Burial will be in the Little Deer Creek Cemetery in Onward, Indiana.
