William L. Hunter

William L. Hunter, age 79, Logansport, passed away at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at Community Howard Regional Health, Kokomo.

Born August 10, 1943, in Logansport, he was the son of John R. and Grace Shaver Hunter.

On January 1, 1965, in Logansport, he was married to Susan Altmyer Hunter, who survives. It was a marriage lasting fifty-eight years.

Bill had proudly served in the United States Marine Corps and will be accorded full military graveside honors.

Bill was retired as a mechanic from Mike Anderson Chevy/Buick/GMC.

He enjoyed hunting and especially enjoyed his grandchildren. He visited his son’s collision repair shop at 18th and Woodlawn Avenue every day.

Bill was a member of Thornhope Holiness Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, William “Bill” Hunter (wife Shelly) , Kewanna,  Donald “Don” Hunter (wife, Kelly), Logansport, Scott Hunter (fiance, Nicole Mosby) and Neil Mooy, Monticello; and Angel Scripter, the mother of Bill’s grandchildren, Austin, Ayron, Michael, all surviving, and Alyc, who preceded in death; a sister, Carolyn Hellyer and brother-in-law, Bobby Conklin, also survive.

 Surviving are grandchildren, Misty Blickenstaff (husband, John), Nicole Hyatt (husband, James), Billy Hunter, (wife, Samantha), Stephanie Klein, Ashley Alder, Brandon Hunter, Caitlan James (husband, Charles), Jessica Hunter, Ethan Hunter, Brittany Riley, Levi Hunter (wife, Jordan), Alexis Hunter, Michael Hunter,  Austin Sammons, Ayron Hunter (wife, Sunshine); twenty-three great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Two grandchildren preceded him in death, Korin Rinaldo and Alyc Scripter(Phoenix Ashton Henderson-Vigil).

The visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, March 13th, at Kroeger Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow visitation at 7:00 p.m. Monday, with Mark Hines of Thornhope Holiness Church officiating.

Burial will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 14th, at Mount Hope Cemetery, with military honors provided by the Cass County Honor Guard and uniformed members of the United States Marine Corps.
