Edward J. Copenhaver passed into heaven on Palm Sunday, April 2, 2023. Eddie was born on March 24, 1935, in South Bend, Indiana. He was pre-deceased by his infant daughter, Lisa Marie, son, Edward, and brother, LaMar.

While living in South Bend, he married Christine, his wife of 58 years. During his time in South Bend he worked for United Beverage as a manager. In 1981 he and Chrissie moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where they made many friends. Ed retired from William Thies and Sons Wholesale in 1997, at which time they relocated to Logansport to be closer to family.

Ed was a proud veteran of his service in the Army. He was a hard worker that had a love of fishing, yard work, polishing his cars, and riding his Gator around the lake and neighborhood.

Ed was a very caring man and loved by his many friends and family. He was always ready to lend a helping hand and was skilled at fixing just about anything.

Ed is survived by his loving wife, Christine, of Logansport. His daughter, Laura (Doug) Cole of
Indianapolis; and their children, Alex, Brooke and Julia; his step children Brenda K. Smet of Glendale, California, and children, Joey, Casey, and Alex Klebba; and David (Brenda L.) Smet of South Bend and daughter, Ashleigh.

Also surviving are his son Edward’s children, Lisa Lavery, Kyle and Clinton, and eleven great grandchildren.

He shared such a special bond with all of his grandchildren no matter how far away they were.

Also surviving are his brother, Ronnie; sisters, Sharon, Beverly and Marge.

Per Ed’s wishes there will be no service.

The family would like to thank Kroeger Funeral and Cremation, Logansport, for final arrangements.
