Keneta Johann Musall

Keneta Johann Musall, 86, Royal Center, peacefully passed away in her sleep Thursday, April 20, 2023.

Born September 8, 1936 in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth W. and Mary Ineta (Sulgrove) Lucas.

Keneta was a 1954 graduate of Royal Center High School.

On March 20, 1955, in Royal Center, she was married to James Melvin Musall. He preceded her in death February 2, 2007.

A devoted Christian wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother she lived a life that showed her love for Jesus. A devoted member of the Shiloh Christian Church, Keneta had served as the youth leader and Sunday School teacher for 15 years. Her loving kindness and giving heart is how she served her Lord.

When her children were young she enjoyed being a homemaker. Keneta worked at the Community State Bank in Royal Center for many years. Her love for her community led her to get involved in community service. Keneta’s first bid for Cass County Clerk was successful. She served in that capacity for 10 years before running for the office of Cass County Auditor – a position she held for 4 years before retiring. During her years at the Court House, she was actively involved with the Cass County Republicans and had served as the chairman from 1989-1991.

Her world revolved around her family. She loved being with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren Keneta had Christlike generosity and love that she gave freely her entire life. People that knew Keneta felt blessed to have her in their lives.

Keneta is survived by 2 sons, Mark (Debra) Musall of Lucerne, and Kent (Jennifer) Musall of Hillsdale; 2 daughters, Meleta (Mark) Beach of Lucerne and Dawn (Jeff) Keiser of Ankeny Iowa; 1 sister, Jeannie (Dale) Byers; 1 brother-in-law Lester Musall of Winamac; 9 grandchildren Krista (Levi) Pullen of Royal Center, Lucas (Angela) Beach of Colorado Springs, Amber (Matt) Fjelland of Huxley Iowa, Austin (Renee) Beach of Kokomo, Shana (Blake) Pownell of Logansport, Abigail (Austin) Goltry of Lucerne, Patricia Musall of Leesburg, Olivia Musall of Clinton, and Matthew (Dalyn) Musall of Clinton; 12 great-grandchildren and 1 on the way; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Kenneth Lucas and her sister-in-law Benita (Joe) Raderstorf.

Friends may call from 1:00-5:00 pm on Sunday April 23 in Fisher Funeral Chapel.

A funeral service celebrating Keneta’s life will be held at 10:30 am Monday, April 24, in Shiloh Christian Church 1047 North County Road 350 West, Logansport, with Pastors Dirk Raderstorf and Dawn Wild officiating. 

Following the service, she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, James, in Shiloh Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made in Keneta’s memory to Riley Children’s Foundation in support of Spina Bifida.
