Anna Louise (Edgerley) Helton, 82 of New Waverly, passed into paradise Monday, May 22, 2023, in the comfort of her home with her son by her side.
Anna was born July 31, 1940, in Peru, Indiana, the daughter of the late Lester and Martha (Clemons) Edgerley. On October 5, 1955, Anna married Emery Duane Helton in Peru, Indiana, who preceded her on July 21, 2019. Anna is survived by their son, Todd.
Anna was a devoted Christian. She loved giving guidance to those seeking the Lord. She could always be found in her chair reading her Bible. Anna could start a conversation with anyone and talk happily for hours about her faith in God. Along with her faith in God, Anna was devoted to raising and caring for her son.
Anna always remembered everyone’s special days. She loved sending cards for all occasions, especially birthdays, get well, and just thinking of you cards.
Anna is also survived by her brother, Bob (Kay) Jones, Peru, sister, Ruby “Sue” Gibson (Companion Arwood), Peru, sisters of the heart, Bonnie Edgerley, Peru and Linda Helton of Stanton, KY. She was preceded in death by her sister, Erma Becraft and brothers, Clarence “Dick” Edgerley, and William “Bill” Edgerley.
A celebration of Anna’s life will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, May 26, at Fisher Funeral Chapel in Logansport with Pastor Brent Smith officiating.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, May 25, and Friday, May 26th from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
Burial will follow in the New Waverly I.O.O.F. Cemetery..
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Fisher Funeral Chapel to assist the family with final expenses.
