Jeane A. Trinen, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2023, at the age of 95. She was born on April 14, 1928, in Logansport, Indiana, to John and Marjorie (Musser) Girton. Jeane’s passing comes less than a year after the loss of her loving husband, Wilbur H. Trinen, who passed away on June 17, 2022.

Jeane will be remembered for her unwavering strength, her gentle spirit, and her deep love for her family. On June 26, 1948, she entered into holy matrimony with Wilbur, and together they shared a beautiful journey of 74 years. Their love and devotion were an inspiration to all who knew them. Jeane and Wilbur’s bond was an enduring testament to the power of love and commitment.

Her early childhood was spent on a farm with her loving grandparents, Martha (Mom) and Ralph Musser, before residing with her parents. Jeane was a graduate of Logansport High School. She learned to be a seamstress at the H.W. Gossard Company at a young age and her jobs ranged from Jarlings Custard Cup (where she met Wilbur), Chase Manor, Maibens, and working for Co-Tronics.

Jeanes favorite occupation was raising her children, attending to her beautiful flower beds and most importantly her love of animals.  She nurtured many kittens, a lot of cats, and cared for every animal she could.

She made time to take her children on long bike rides, drives along the river to stop and draw nature; fun swimming at France Park with cousins, garage sales with sister-in-laws and spent many hours making doll clothes.  She had such a love for reading, a passion for art, music, and playing her organ.

She enjoyed her home life with Wilbur until retiring to assisted living at McKinney Place in 2019. She received such love and care from the entire bstaff at McKinney Place and the team of Physiocare Hospice. The compassionate ministry she received meant so much to Jeane and her family.

Jeane leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. She is survived by her two daughters, Rebecca E. (Larry) Lueckenhoff of Jefferson City, MO, and Janice L. Johnson of Phoenix, AZ, as well as her son, Roger B. Trinen of Oak Harbor, Washington. five grandchildren, Melanie and Issaac Johnson, Melissa (Eric) Vernon; Christy (Chris) Harmon; Bill (Zana) Stephenson; seven great grandchildren, Becca and Maggie Vernon, Hazel and Otis Harmon, Mia, Olivia and Will (Rosie) Stephenson; a great great grandson, Leo; several loving nieces and nephews.

Family was the cornerstone of Jeane’s life, and she devoted herself to nurturing and supporting her loved ones. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she treasured every moment spent with them. Jeane’s kind and gentle nature, coupled with her wisdom and guidance, will continue to shape the lives of those she touched.

In addition to her parents and her beloved husband, Jeane was preceded in death by her brother, Jack Girton. Though she is no longer with us, her memory will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

A funeral service to honor and celebrate Jeane’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at Mount Hope Cemetery, with Chaplain Zachary Rainey officiating. Her final resting place will serve as a reminder of the love and memories she leaves behind.

Jeane A. Trinen will be dearly missed but fondly remembered as a devoted wife, a loving mother, a doting grandmother, and a cherished friend. Her legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate enough to know her. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
