Jerry Lee McLeland, 86 of Burnettsville, passed away at home early Tuesday morning, May 2, 2023, with his wife and family by his side.
Born September 6, 1936, in Burnettsville, he was the son of the late William and Ruby (Brechbiel) McLeland .
Jerry was a 1955 graduate of Burnettsville High School. Following graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served during peacetime.
On November 7, 1959, in Delphi, he was married to Faith (Brady) McLeland.
Jerry was employed at Rockwell International/Matthew Warren Inc for over 30 years prior to retirement. He was a member of Burnettsville Church of Brethren. Jerry served many years as a volunteer fire fighter for the Burnettsville Fire Department.
An avid sports fan, Jerry enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs and the Green Bay Packers. He also loved a good NASCAR race.
Surviving with his wife of 63 years, are five children: Brenda (Randy) Coble, Teresa (Mark) Duffey, Rob (Deb) McLeland, Pam (Robert) Stover, and Deanna (Sean) Nicholas; brother, Larry McLeland, sister, Jan Nolte, 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his sister Gloria Heiny and brother Beryl McLeland
A memorial service celebrating the life of Jerry will be held at 3p.m. Saturday, May 6 at Fisher Funeral Chapel with Pastor Dawn Wild officiating.
A visitation will be held at 1 p.m. until the time of the service.
A private interment will be in the Davis Cemetery, near Burnettsville.
