Marshall “Denny” Collins

Marshall “Denny” Collins, 80, of Walton, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2023, at St. Vincent Hospital in Kokomo.  He was born September 12, 1942, in Logansport to Marshall and Dorothy (Knight) Collins.

Denny served his country in the United States Army.  He worked as a Barber for over 60 years in Logansport, Kokomo, Walton, Young America, Galveston, and Peru.   He also retired from Delco Electronics with over 30 years’ service.  He was a member of Onward Christian Church, the American Paint Horse Assoc; the American Quarter Horse Assoc; the American Miniature Horse Assoc; the American Kennel Club, UAW Local #292, and the International Barber’s Assoc.   He loved animals, especially raising horses, dogs, and all kinds of animals.  He enjoyed nature, riding his horses and spending time with his grandkids.   He was a huge supporter of Lewis Cass Athletics in Walton and an avid I.U. basketball fan.

Surviving family include his sons, Michael (Katherine) Collins; and Matthew (Christine) Collins of Walton.  He is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Olivia Collins, Dixon (fiancée Baileigh Richie) Collins and Cooper Collins, and one very special great grandson Tucker Collins who was born the day Denny went to Heaven.  One brother also survives, Dave (Elaine) Collins of Logansport.  He is preceded in death by his parents, and an infant sister Debbie.

Visitation will be held Sunday, May 28, 2023, from 12:00 noon until 4:00 p.m. at Onward Christian Church, 21 Oak Street in Onward.  Funeral services will follow immediately after visitation at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor Rod Mason officiating.  Burial will follow in the Walton Cemetery.   Memorial contributions may be given to the Lewis Cass Athletic Fund in Denny’s memory.  Murray Weaver Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangments. www.murrayweaverfuneralhome.com
