Mary Sue Miles, 88, of Peru, passed away at her home early Wednesday morning, May 17, 2023. She was born January 26, 1935, to George Griffin and Mary Jane (Brown) Bair. She married Elmer E. Miles and he preceded her in death on November 30, 1998.
Sue was a loving as well as proud wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed entertaining family and friends. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a majorette in her high school years. She enjoyed spending time with her loved ones, playing cards, cooking with family, traveling, listening to music, playing the piano and antiques. She loved watching all the wildlife in her backyard, especially all the different kinds of birds who frequented her flower gardens. As an animal lover, she cherished her dogs very much. Sue was also a real estate broker for many years owning Heritage Home’s Realty in Kokomo and Sue Miles Realty Company in Miami County. She was a member of the Kokomo Board of Realtors. Sue was a pillar for her family and will be deeply missed.
Surviving family include her children, Rex “Lonnie” and wife Lisa Beach of Bradenton, FL; Lynn and husband Steve Workman of Bunker Hill; Jennifer “Jenny” Spane of Kokomo; and Tammy and husband Tim Stone of Peru. Surviving grandchildren include, Matt and wife Amanda Spane, Kiersten Wagler, Chelsea Beach, and Brianna and husband Bret Dix, Angie Brookings. Great grandchildren include, Lilly, Paxton, Cora, Oceanna, Breanne, Dustin, and Ember. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband Elmer.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. Monday, May 22, 2023, at Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston with funeral services to follow at 5:00 p.m. with Pastor Bill Collins officiating.
