Marilyn Corso, Nashville, TN, was a former long-time resident of Logansport, IN. Born in Toledo, Ohio, to Harrison Knight Raub and Marie Wright Raub, she was raised in Burnettsville, IN. She married Salvatore (Sal) A. Corso July 5, 1947, who preceded her in death July 6, 1998.
Mrs. Corso was corporate treasurer of The Corso Corporation until she moved to Nashville, TN, in 2008 to be closer to her daughter, Barbara Corso Ide. She was a member of All Saints Catholic Church, All Saints Ladies Society, William Paca Lodge Sons of Italy in America, and the Daughters of Isabella. Other memberships included Alpha Xi Chapter Psi Iota Xi Sorority, life member Cass County Historical Society, Logansport Art Association, Mary Dykeman Guild of Logansport Memorial Hospital, VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and Logansport Elkettes. Her board memberships included Cass County Historical Society and the Neal Home. She had previously served on the boards of United Way and Performing Arts Council.
She was a graduate of Grosse Ile (Michigan) High School and attended classes at IUK.
Later in life she received an Honorary AA degree in Finance from Sandhills Community College in North Carolina.
Survivors include sons Patrick A. (Judith) Corso, Pinehurst, NC; and Michael J. (Lorna) Corso, Kewadin, MI; daughter Barbara Corso Ide (Steven), Mount Juliet, TN; Grandchildren: Katy Hannah, Christopher D. Hannah, Claire Corso McWilliams, Anthony S. Corso, Michael P. Corso, Joshua M. Corso, Salvatore A. Corso II, Marie Corso-Patterson, and eight great-grandchildren. One brother, Franklin R. Raub, preceded her in death.
A private graveside service was held at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Logansport where she was interred next to her husband, Sal.
The family would like to express sincere gratitude to the staff and administration of Alive Hospice of Nashville, TN, who provided Marilyn with comfort and peace in her final days.
