Dolores “Joann” Hatten

Dolores “Joann” Hatten, 90, of Logansport, passed away peacefully early Monday morning, June 13, 2023, at McKinney Place, surrounded by her family.

Born, March 26, 1933, Crawford County, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Richard E and Dorothy E. (Iles) Goodson.

On August 26, 1950, she was married to James William Hatten who preceded her in death February 18, 2000.

Joann was proud to be a Berry and enjoyed keeping in touch with her Logansport High School classmates. For over twenty years, she was employed as a sales associate for JC Penney.

A member of the Cross~Wind United Methodist Church, Joann’s faith in her Lord was evident in her life. For twelve years, she served as a volunteer at Logansport Memorial Hospital.

She enjoyed wintering with her husband in Tucson, Arizona where they would hike and take in the beauty of their surroundings. Joann had traveled to many state and national parks. Some of her best memories were simply the times she spent with her grandchildren.

Surviving are her five children, James David (Judy) Hatten, Carmel, IN, Julie (Ron) Davis, and Jill Callender Hatten, all of Logansport, and Joy Hatten, of Grand Rapids, Michigan; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, Joann was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Goodson.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 19 from noon until the time of the 2 p.m. memorial service at Fisher Funeral Chapel. Longtime friend and fellow church member Steve Gwin will officiate at the service.

Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made in Joann’s memory to the Cross~Wind United Methodist Church and/or the St. Jude Children’s Hospital for Cancer Research. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.
