Marjorie Ellen Hartleroad, age 97, of Logansport, passed away on Monday, June 26, 2023, at Chase Center in Logansport.
Born October 24, 1925, in Marshall County, IN, Marjorie is the daughter to the late Walter Rea and Ada May (Johnston) Medbourn. On January 19, 1946, in Cass County, IN, she married Wayne E. Hartleroad, who preceded her in death on November 19, 2005.
Marjorie retired from Switches in 1987 after 18 years of service. She had also worked 10 years at Kresge’s Department Store.
Marjorie was a member and deaconess of the Blue Ball Christian Church (now Living Truth Bible Church). She was also a member of the Church’s Women’s Fellowship group, the Hi-Neighbor home economics club and a 1943 graduate of Walton High School.
Surviving Marjorie are two daughters, Ellen K. Hartleroad, Logansport; Patricia (Doug) Cain, Logansport; one brother-in-law, Leo “Red” Record, Logansport; one granddaughter, Rebecca (Chris) Maurer, Greenfield; four great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Marjorie was preceded in death by two sisters, Grace Record and Goldie Medbourn; and a grandson, Eric (Anita) Cain.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 29, 2023, in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Heirholzer officiating. Burial will follow in the Walton I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, also in the funeral home.
