Ronald L. Elifritz

Ronald L. Elifritz, 80, of Walton, passed away at Thursday morning, June 1, 2023, in his home surrounded by his family.

Born June 13, 1942, in Ohio, he was the son of the late Boyd and Margaret V. (Thompson) Elifritz.

Ron graduated from Tipton Township High School.

On November 24, 1962, in Onward, he was married Rosellen “Rosie” (Reutebuch) Elifritz, who preceded in death on October 21, 2019.

A farmer, Ron was a man who lived to farm. Nothing could slow him down. He was a good steward of the land God had designated for him to farm.

He was a longtime member of the Onward Christian Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, and gardening, He had many happy memories of winters in Florida.

Surviving are two daughters, Sheryl (Don Jr.) Eller, Walton, and Amy (Greg) Murphy, Indianapolis; two grandchildren, Devon Eller, Louisville, KY and Seth Eller (fiancée Sarah Franklin), Walton; four great-grandchildren, Hazel Grace Eller, and Bailey, Avery and Riley Franklin; his sister, Beverly (Jim) Aspinwall, Peru; his sister-in-law, Kathleen Elifritz; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Delmar Elifritz.

A Memorial Service celebrating Ron’s life will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, June 9, at the Onward Christian Church with Pastor Rod Mason and Jacqueline Varnell officiating.

Visitation will be from 4 – 6 p.m. prior to the service in the church.

Inurnment, at a later date, will be in the Little Deer Creek Cemetery in Onward.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Onward Christian Church.
