Last Updated on July 23, 2023 by Kroeger Funeral Home

Adeline (Addie) M. Perrone, age 102, peacefully passed away on May 5th, 2023. Addie was born August 21, 1920, to Michael and Angelina Sundy. She married Patrick J. (Pat) Perrone and had two children, Patricia (Patti) and John. She was predeceased by her husband, Pat, and daughter, Patti. Addie is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, John and Karen, as well as many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Addie was one of seven siblings in the Sundy family: three sisters Mary, Virginia and Lucy and three brothers, August, Tony and Jim. Born and raised in Logansport, Addie graduated from LHS in 1938 and worked for a local law office as a legal secretary. Addie married Pat Perrone in 1943, and together they had daughter, Patti, and son, John.

Addie was a seamstress and put her skills to use in Junior Civic Theater, for which she received well-deserved recognition for her years of costume design and making. She was also passionate to participate in aerobics and exercise, which she did for over 40 years, and which she continued in the comfort of her home.

Addie’s big move to South Carolina came in April, 2019. She lived in her own home, next door to Karen and John, until September, 2022. Addie’s health required her to move to Arbor Landing, an assisted living facility, where she discovered a new talent in herself, painting. The facility was within walking distance of John and Karen’s community, so she had daily visits with family and friends.

Addie was the “personality” of Arbor Landing, and the staff treated her as one of their own. Addie developed a special relationship with two special caretakers from Tidelands Hospice, Priscilla and Melissa, who became very close to Addie in both her physical and spiritual well-being. Addie missed her friends and family in Logansport, and she will continue to be missed by all of her family and friends!

On Thursday, August 3rd, at Kroeger Funeral Home, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., there will be a period of visitation to greet family and friends, and to share memories and stories. A memorial video presentation will depict, with photographs, some of Addie’s life experiences through the years.

At 11:00 a.m. on Thursday (following visitation), the funeral procession will depart Kroeger Funeral Home for Mount Hope Cemetery, where the Catholic Rite of Committal will be offered at the graveside.
